Admissions & Finances
We are pleased that you are interested in the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University for your graduate study.
Admission to the various graduate programs at the Maxwell School is offered to people with diverse racial, ethnic, social, academic, and professional backgrounds and career goals. Applications are submitted to the Graduate School—the college of record for all graduate students at Syracuse University. Each department at the Maxwell School reviews applications individually and then conveys its admission recommendations to The Graduate School. (For information on the specific admissions requirements of individual Maxwell departments, please visit their websites; follow the "Social Science Departments" and "Professional Programs" headings at top.)
Official offers of admission come from the dean of the graduate school. Instructions for submitting an application are included on the How to Apply page.
An application is not considered complete until all documents, including required test scores, have been received by the University. (The testing agency will send test scores directly to the University.) To verify whether all materials have been received, you may contact either the Graduate Enrollment Management Center or the degree program to which you are applying.
To merit prime consideration for admission and award decisions, all application documents, including test scores, must be received by the Graduate Enrollment Management Center by February 1. Applications received after February 1 will be given consideration only as program space and funding resources permit.
We look forward to hearing from you and to receiving your completed application package.
