Alexandra Bennett, Director of Career Development
Alexandra has provided career coaching and job search assistance to graduate students in and alumni of The Maxwell School since 1999. She also organizes alumni and employer visits to campus, manages the on-campus recruiting program, and presents various career-related workshops. In addition, Alexandra cultivates employer relationships, manages the web-based career management system, and co-coordinates the collection of employment data for Maxwell graduates. She collaborates with colleagues in the seventeen career offices serving the University community as a member of the Career Services Network. Alexandra is an active member of the career development groups associated with the Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs and National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration and the National Association of Colleges and Employers. She received her Master of Science in Higher Education with an emphasis in Counseling and Student Affairs from Syracuse University and her Bachelor of Arts in English from Gettysburg College. She has also taken graduate coursework in Social Work and Information Science at Syracuse University. She is a certified Global Career Development Facilitator.
Kelli Young, Assistant Director of Career Development
Kelli has been with the Maxwell School as a career professional since 2003. Prior to this, she worked in the career offices at Champlain College, University of Texas and Colgate University. In addition to her work with students, Kelli is responsible for the Presidential Management Fellowship program at Maxwell and coordinates activities with the International City Management Association organization. She also coordinates the internship opportunities for the office. Kelli received her Master of Science in Counseling and Higher Education from Syracuse University and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Colgate University. She has also taken coursework in Human Resources from Champlain College. She is part of the Career Services Network at Syracuse University, the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration, the Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs and the National Association of Colleges and Employers. Kelli is qualified in the administration and interpretation of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator.
Jo Sheridan, Administrative Assistant
Jo has been with the Maxwell Career Services Office for 12 years and has been with Syracuse University for a total of 23 years. She is the Office Manager, maintaining our databases and web page, and is also the first point of contact for students and alumni in our office. She coordinates logistics for all Career Services recruiting and Alumni events.
